Laura | Carmen Cooking Show

January 5th, 2010

Duration: 9′42″

Miri from lauracarmen.com asked to produce a series of video for her blog. She is a really talented cook and wanted to start presenting some of that talent on video. This is the 1st video out of a whole set that we’ll be working on during 2010. Basically the videos are shot with 2 cameras. One still on a tripod, and another camera hand-held via a Steadicam stabilizer. The sound comes from a lav that she is wearing on her shirt, and another shotgun mic on the camera to help bring a more environmental sound. The filming happened over 2 days, and editing was 5 days of work from start to finish.

Dust & Illusions. Full Feature Documentary

January 13th, 2009

Duration of trailer: 6′ (Film duration: 75′)

After 4 years of work, Dust & Illusions is completed. The film explores 30 years of history of Burning Man all the way back to the late 70s into the origins of the event, with never seen footage of the Suicide Club, the Cacophony Society, and the early burns on San Francisco Baker beach. Twenty interviewees expose their views about the history of the event, and its evolution into a large festival. The film is the first to present Burning Man with a critical eye (not a negative one) and analyze how successful the event really is in its intention of recreating community and bringing art back to “ordinary” people. Watch it and be the judge, as the film doesn’t try to draw conclusions one way or the other.

Ken Townsend Comic Show

Ken Townsend and 2 other comic artist from the Bay Area did a show for a non-profit in a church in San Francisco. There was no preparation work, so I had no idea what the conditions of recording were going to be. And I had 6 hours to edit the video.
